Richard J. Judge, Jr.

Richard J. Judge, Jr.

Senior Counsel

Richard Judge brings a rare blend of business insight, courtroom savvy, and relentless advocacy to every case he handles. His legal practice is guided by a clear principle: protect clients, resolve problems early, and—when necessary—litigate aggressively to achieve justice.

Originally from Royal Oak, Michigan, Richard moved to Texas in 1976 and has called The Woodlands home since 2004. After earning a bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin, Richard began his professional career in beer and liquor sales—a role he credits as providing as much preparation for law as law school itself. Between his finance background, sales expertise, and extensive litigation experience, Richard believes he brings the equivalent of an MBA to the negotiating table. This strong business foundation remains a key to his success as an attorney.

Over the course of his two-decade legal career, Richard has handled complex commercial and business litigation, including contract disputes, employment law, construction defect cases, real estate matters, professional liability, trade secrets, insurance coverage, and environmental claims. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts throughout Texas and beyond, securing successful outcomes through negotiation, mediation, and trial.

Richard loves business law for its diversity and depth, constantly learning about different industries—often discovering areas of business most people never even knew existed. His watchword is versatility, and he prides himself on his ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and circumstances.

He takes pride in quickly identifying issues, providing practical, strategic advice, and guiding clients toward resolutions that save time, money, and stress. He understands that litigation can disrupt lives and businesses, so he always seeks efficient resolutions first. Yet when litigation is unavoidable, he is fully prepared to fight tenaciously in court.

Deeply committed to his community, Richard has served as Vice President and Director of The Woodlands Bar Association and is actively involved with the Montgomery County Bar Association and the Texas Bar Foundation. He’s also a leader at West Conroe Baptist Church, mentoring young people in faith and the outdoors.

Richard and his wife, Alison, are proud parents to two sons who are NCAA Division I athletes. In his downtime, you'll find Richard on the golf course, or volunteering in and for the community.
